Tips and Tricks
Switch up the toppings
Kids will love chocolate chips or caramel bites as toppings more than they would dry fruit, let’s be honest! You can experiment and add whatever toppings you have lying around the house. So, our advice is to try whipped cream, fresh fruit, chocolate chunks, almonds, maple syrup, and chocolate syrup! Yummy!
Experiment with plant-based milk and gluten-free flour options
For example, pair coconut milk with coconut flour if you are really passionate about coconut. Or, try hazelnut milk with almond flour! Nowadays, there are a lot of gluten-free and dairy-free options on the market, so find your favorite combination.
Use baked pumpkin instead of pumpkin purée
If you want to take this recipe up a notch, use homemade baked pumpkin instead of pumpkin purée. Just cut a pumpkin into chunks, sprinkle with some cinnamon and brown sugar or honey, and bake until soft and golden brown. Then mash the baked pumpkin for this recipe. It will be sweeter, more flavorful, and with a delicious caramel aftertaste.
Be creative and experiment with different flavor combinations
