How to make sushi rice?
Well, it is time to start with the basics. The rice is the absolute must have ingredient, so here is the recipe on how to prepare it.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup short grain rice
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Rinse the rice well.
- In a pan cook the rice with the water until bigger portion of the water has evaporated. Let sit for about 10 minutes.
- In a saucepan mix the rice vinegar, sugar and salt and simmer until they melt. Let cool.
- Once the rice is ready mix it with the vinegar mixture.

Homemade sushi
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 2 nori sheets
- 1 tsp chili sauce
- 1/2 avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cup strips of carrots
- 3-4 oz. ahi tura or smoked salmon
- 1/4 cup kimchi
- 1/8 cup fresh cilantro
Rolling sushi is not that difficult
Instructions:
- Spread out the nori sheets and attach them together with a few drops of water.
- Spread out the rice over the nori sheets, leaving 1 inch in front. Cover with the chili paste.
- Layer the avocado, carrots, kimchi, ahi and cilantro at the center of the rice.
- Roll up carefully, wet the last inch of nori with water to seal it. Cut.

California roll recipe
Ingredients:
- cooked rice
- 16 imitation crabsticks
- 3 nori sheets
- 1/2 English cucumber
- 1 avocado
- 1 1/2 tsp toasted sesame seeds
- wasabi, soy sauce, pickled ginger for serving

Instructions:
- Place a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat. Cover with rice and sprinkle it with sesame seeds.
- Flip over and fold the top half of the mat, press down and open up again.

- 80z. cream cheese
- 8oz. imitation crab
- 2 avocados, cut into slices
Spread out the nori sheets
Cover with the cooked rice
Mix the crab and cream cheese and layer it onto the rice along with the avocado and roll

- 1 cucumber
- 2 avocados
- 1/2 lemon
- 2 nori sheets
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 8 pieces shrimp tempura

- toasted black sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Roll the sushi as in the other recipes leaving the avocado.
- Cut the avocado into slices and place on top of the roll. Wrap in foil and let sit for awhile.

- roasted shiitake mushrooms
- cooked rice
- 3 nori sheets
- 1 cup red cabbage, sliced
- 3 strips of cucumber
- 1/2 avocado, sliced into strips
